Caring for fluorescent lamps

But along with this advantage there is a risk. When one of these fluorescent lamps burning, can damage your health and the environment.

According to a professor of biology Martha Amaral, the risk is given by one of the materials that are part of the manufacture of the lamp, the mercury. According to her, besides being harmful to health if such lamps are discarded in inappropriate places can be harmful to the environment, contaminating the groundwater. However, as most people do not know it, throw fluorescent lamps burning in the trash.

Therefore, from now on a new decree stipulates that all state establishment that sells fluorescent lamps must have containers to collect the products discarded by consumers. However, even the traders know what to do with these discarded products.
