A Microsoft released a new battery technology called "InstaLoad" which allows users to install batteries in any direction without having to pay attention to polarity. The company said "most people never have to squint to see diagrams of battery installation - the device simply works regardless if the battery is installed on the positive side or upside down."
In addition to letting users' lives easier, MS InstaLoad believes may be useful in many industries, and organizations such as police, military, construction activities such as camping, etc.. The technology is compatible with the full range of popular disposable and rechargeable batteries in sizes as CR123, AA, AAA, C or D.
The company is offering a program of royalty-free license to vendors and manufacturers of accessibility for people with hearing, vision or with learning difficulties. Third parties will probably have to queue to sign up for licensing, and then use it on their own products.
Two companies, Duracell and AE Light, with InstaLoad are already in hand. There is no information about which products these two companies this technology would be used.
