Victoria Prefecture tests new lighting system with wind and solar

The Department of Transport and Urban Infrastructure of the City of Victoria (SETRAN) is introducing visitors to the Fair Green tests that come with making a hybrid system of public lighting, which uses two types of pure energy - wind and solar.

The tests are being done in Camburi Beach, which installed a pole using the two systems. The tests will be conducted for approximately three months. During this period, will be checked for durability, performance and cost-effective system, which, if approved, will receive a certificate of SETRAN and will compose the approved products of the registry.

They are also being tested the use of Led lights, which reduces power consumption by around 50%, has a shelf life three times that of traditional lamp and maintenance is virtually zero.
