Samsung believes that the first laptops with OLED screens hit the market next year. The site quotes the head of sales and marketing company Kyu Uhm: "Samsung is the largest manufacturer of OLED displays. And then [the technology] is available commercially for the laptops that we will adopt. " The executive also said: "Probably in the middle of the third quarter of next year."
Samsung demonstrated a prototype laptop with OLED screen on in May last year. The system had a 12.1-inch screen at 1280 × 768 pixels, plus a keyboard surface smooth and shiny, but still continued to invest in the scheme of conventional LCDs with LED backlighting in its notebook line.
